Manchester's best...

Taurus Café Bar & Restaurant Set in the heart of Manchester's gay village, this wonderful restaurant and bar manages to retain a true LGBT community-focus, whilst maintaining extremely high standards - something that is no mean feat in the commercially successful environment in which it sits.
The attraction of Taurus is hard to pinpoint, merely because it has so much going for it. Ambience is not always achieved in restaurants, but it's here in copious quantities. Friendly and welcoming staff are there to look after you and make your time with them extremely enjoyable. The people behind the restaurant have an impressive pedigree in terms of food, drink and hospitality and, boy, it shows. The clientelle are from all backgrounds and ages, which is comforting in its own right. In terms of food, there is so much on offer that it would be difficult not to be able to tickle the tastebuds of everyone. From light snacks, platters to pick at to full and satisfying mains the cuisine is truly global in influence and they are proud of the care taken in the preparation. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available in choice rather than dictation. A great wine selection is available with some pretty wicked cocktails served up too. Taurus is on two levels and has a great little bar downstairs, available for functions or private hire. They also have regular entertainment, including fringe theatre, which finds its own sophistication in such an intimate setting. It's no wonder, therefore, that this restaurant and bar is the recipient of so many awards and a real credit to everyone behind it. as recommended by...
