During the last decade, over 4,000 people from Manchester and England’s North West have shared something very special. They’ve all been part of one of the largest and most inclusive LGBT swim groups in Europe, Northern Wave.

After ten years of growth the club has become a social network: a community with a social value. It welcomes people from many different backgrounds and countries; integrates people of different religions and none; includes people of different ages, classes, professions and abilities; brings people together who are isolated and who suffer discrimination.
