You're missing out if you think the Velvet Lounge Bar is just a place to stop-off before dinner down in the lovely Velvet restaurant... though that's a very good idea too of course! With its big sofas, velvet covered chairs and indulgent decor the flavour of the place will soon rub off on you as you kick back and enjoy a few drinks!

There are regularly live DJs over the weekends (though the music isn't so loud you can't hold a conversation), and the bar is an equally good bet for enjoying a quieter drink with the Sunday papers - or just for a spot of people watching out on Canal Street.

Obviously if you love the bar, then you should also consider paying the Velvet restaurant a visit... and if you're a visitor to the city then treat yourself to some luxury with a room in the new Velvet Hotel upstairs!
