Pride Games 2008 @ All over the Village

A week long sports & leisure festival with cultural activities at accessible venues in Greater Manchester.

Taking part is what matters most and there will be sonething to suit most tastes. It will challenge stereotypes and provide many and varied opportunities for participation in a way that suits you. Either as a volunteers, a sports club, an individual, as a sponsor. Everyone is welcome!

PG2008 Swim taster event @ Manchester Aquatics Centre

Come and join in with Northern Wave in one of the UK's best pools for a coached swimming session. Suitable for all from improvers to high performance Masters swimmers. Ask reception for Northern Wave and you'll be pointed in the right direction - no need to book. www.northernwave.org

PG2008 Alexandra Park charity Fun Day @ Alexandra Park

This is the opening event of PrideGames 2008 - a charity fundraising day. It includes the monthly Alex Park 5k Run (a safe curcuit inside the Park), community relays, climbing wall, Rugby League taster and more. Good food and drink will be available . It will be run by Open Athletics and aims to raise cash for George House Trust. For more information, please visit www.openathletics.org.

Manchester Prairie Dogs Line Dance Club was established over 11 years ago. The clubs membership is drawn mainly, but not exclusively, from the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender community, but membership is open to all - regardless of sexual orientation, ethnic origin, age or gender.

A great way to start the weekend. Meet in the car park by the sports stadium for 10am and then run into Chorlton Ees and down the banks of the Mersey to and around Chorlton Water Park and occasionally Sale Water Park. Northern Wave Sunday Swim @ Manchester Aquatics Centre

Now in its fifth year, Northern Wave's Sunday swim is held in the fabulous 50m Training Pool, with wide lanes, great coaches and lovely people. Open to all, Sunday caters for swimmers of most abilities who want to improve their swimming strokes or train for competition. How fast and how far is up to you. Hope to see you there!

Our registration and pay desk is downstairs, next to the pool. You'll be welcomed.
