Pride Games 2005 : The Bell Boat Regatta...
review The climax of the afternoon at the Salford Quays was the Bell Boat Regatta. Loads of teams paddled furiously up and down the dock to win a place in the final - which was very narrowly won by the Northern Wave swimming team (no, they weren't swimming this time) followed in second place (literally just a second behind) by the Mission Malawi team. In third place was GHAP 3 - one of the Gay Healthy Alliance Project teams who had worked so hard organising the day and making it such a success.Once the sporting bits were all over, we all headed over to the nearby Lowry Arts Centre for a very posh and quite delicious Mad Hatter's Tea Party. What better way to finish the afternoon than a cucumber sandwich and a nice cup of tea? ...Or a nice pint of lager in my case! Well - carrying camera bags is very thirsty work, believe me.
