Pride Parade...
review Wow, what a spectacle! If you didn’t see it, we hope that these photos, from street level, from the floats and from a high vantage point, will give you some idea of the sheer size and diversity of the parade as it wound its way through Manchester. It was amazing to see the Police, Army, RAF, Fire Brigade and Ambulance services out in such force, not lining the route waiting for trouble, but actually in the parade, out and proud. The clubs and bars like Essential, AXM, Paradise Factory and Vanilla, all put on a great show of pumping music and pumped-up dancing boys and girls. The community and sports groups (groups such as NorthernWaves, Front Runners, Village FC, Village Spartans, George House Trust and Mission Malawi) did a great job of keeping the huge crowds all along the route entertained... The Bears’ Christmas and Prairie Dogs Line Dancing Wizard of Oz floats being amongst our favourites. Having dropped in one of the parade workshops last week, it was fab to see the resulting costumes and banners in all their splendour. A big thank you to The Princess Hotel for their hospitality and wireless internet and especially to the guys who let us use their hotel room for the bird’s-eye view. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!
