It was the launch of the first ever ten day World AIDS Festival in Manchester and things were well underway.

For the first time in the UK, a festival dedicated to raising funds for HIV/AIDS was about to begin. With almost every venue in Manchester taking part, people from all walks of life dressing up for the occassion and the first televised news broadcast in Manchester of the festival on Channel M, things were looking good for what was about to come!
