Queerupnorth Launch 2007...
review
The big gay arts and culture festival, Queerupnorth returned to Manchester with the 2007 festival launch party, sponsored by gay.com.
Tonight's event was held at The Comedy Store on Deansgates Locks, 'Laugh out Loud' offered fizzy Champagne giggles all round. The acts on tonight included Craig Hill, Debra Jane Appleby, Zoe Lyons, Paul Sinha, Tom Allen, Kelli Dunham and Barbara Nice; who gave us her own take on a raffle with such prizes as Flying Saucer sweets and Fray Bento Steak and Kidney pies!
Not only was the night a raging success and a superb introduction to the gay arts festival - but, fantastically, all proceeds from the night went to the Albert Kennedy trust, a charity supporting homeless lesbian and gay teenagers across the country.
