FIT by Rikki Beadle-Blair...
review
FIT, the latest touring play by Rikki Beadle-Blair introduced tonight at Contact theatre in its very early stages. Joined on stage by a six strong cast, acclaimed writer Rikki took us through his latest piece of work, with each actor talking to us about their character and their aims within the play.
Targeting 11-14 year olds, the play uses a mix of street, hip hop and contemporary choreography to tackle the growing problem of homophobic bullying within schools across Britain. The script is sharp and true to life, echoing the modern day youth.
Rikki encouraged the audience, mainly made up of adults who work with children, to give their throughts and opinions on the characters and the direction in which the script was moving. The story so far met with a great response.
FIT, the final product, can be seen in schools throughout Greater Manchester and London, in London's Drill Hall and also back in Contact Theatre in August 2007.
