The third National Student Pride tok place at Manchester Student's Union complex in the heart of the city. As well as the students that descended upon the event many more of us were looking forward to the experience of reliving a youthful past amongst LGBT Student activists!

The event was due to start at 2.30pm on what was a very pleasantly warm and sunny day. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the schedule of events was not going quite according to plan - there were no students! But no matter - the various stalls comprising the expected mixture of campaign and career orientated (Stonewall through to the Gay & Lesbian Association for Doctor's and Dentist's) bumpf were up and running! A chance to meet up with one or two old aquaintances, as it turned out!

At about 3:30pm, due to the lower than expected turnout, they dispensed with the planned opening ceremony and the guest speakers and a handful of students made their way to the theatre to get down to the serious business of debating.
