Big weekend random pics...
review
As Timmy slipped from one place/state to another, his camera captured a few random pictures along the way catching moments of drag, adopted patriotism and sweaty messes.
and there's more...

Manchester Europride 2003 (12 stories)
The 10th EuroPride was hosted by the city commonly known as the queer capital of the North, Manchester. Obviously not one to miss a party, a bunch of us jumped on planes, busses and trains up to Manchester to join the celebrations. And we had Fun with a capital P.

HUGE at the Printworks
photos by Tim Nash
There were some reservations about going back to the Printworks, where disaterous events had been held previously. They were soon forgotten, as HUGE was a fab night out. And not paying for any drinks was a real bonus!

...and finally.
photos by Sam Milford
What's left to do but to go Essential one last time. Oh, except pop in for a few hours at Sub101 for a bit of Kink. But for some reason I didn't take many pics down there. I'll just have to go back up in October and do better, cos it was a seriously good laugh.

The longest flag in the world
photos by Tim Nash
Having only just recovered from Brighton Pride, REALBrighton went on location in Manchester for EuroPride 2003.
The parade was fantastic and these few photos hardly do it any justice. Hopefully Sam's got some better ones...

The longest flag in the... oh wait...
photos by Sam Milford
...is that Tim standing next to me? Taking photos? Ahhh! So THAT's why we've both got the same pics. But there are some in here that I know a couple of people are waiting for, so I'd better post this story as well.

Petit Blanc
photos by Sam Milford
So for our third year, we arrive at the Petit Blanc for a Truly Scrumptious meal, and some surprise cakes. But obviously not until we've had a drop of surprise Champage at the hotel (cheers Lesley-ann!). Glyn was a bit late though. Don't know why that'd be. What were you up to, Glyn?

Europride: MEN Arena
photos by Sam Milford
Billed as the biggest thing since man first set foot on the moon. Capacity of 8000 and with bands like Sonic Kitten and Girls Are Loud you can't go wrong. No wait. That's not right. You can go wrong. And although we were determined to get the most from our £26 tickets, it was a bit of a disaster.

And so it begins...
photos by Sam Milford
We get on a train. We wait in a lounge. We fly. We land. We get in a cab. We drop off our bags and we make our way to Canal Street where we start our weekend in earnest. Drinking our way through the afternoon, and finding a restaurant that's happy to serve apples.

It's Essentially Cruz101
photos by Sam Milford
So we're all well fed and... well... drunk... no wait, that didn't come out right. Anyway, we're all quite merry and heading back to flash our wristbands and edge our way through the crowds to a packed Cruz101. And then a few of us venture further afield to sample Essential. And then... Oh it's all very, very blurry.

Glyn's camera
photos by Glyn Jackson
Glyn was determined. Determined to make it up to Simon for the years that he's been joining us in Manchester, but who has only ever been in 1 photo on REALBrighton before. So make it up he did. Welcome to the Simon Show!

about Manchester Pride
|
Manchester Pride has been around for a number of years, previously in the guise of Mardi Gras, GayFest and the Ab Fab Weekend. In recent years, the organisation has grown significantly, focussed its aims and provided a network for community groups, the City Council and the gay businesses - no mean feat!
