Pride Games 2007 : Athletics (track)...
review A first at this year’s event and organised by Open Athletics, a new group aiming to connect LGBT athletes. The group organises a number of athletics events locally and across the UK. Today’s athletics meet offered both competitive and taster sessions of track and field athletics disciplines. There were running events over varying distances as well as a chance to have a go at shotput, javelin, discus and hammer – although we admit we’re probably more used to discos and hammocks (but that’s another story). Despite the unpredictable weather there was good cheer throughout the competitors and spectators with plenty of support for everyone taking part. It was also a great opportunity to try something new with some great tuition and advice on hand. Click for full track results on page 2. loved it? Were you there? Did you have a great time?
