Yes I know it was a bit early to be setting off from St.Peter's Church, but at least it meant getting to Manchester before midnight... And what better excuse do you need to scoff croissants and drink Champagne at 8 in the morning?

and there's more...

Manchester GayFest 2000

Manchester GayFest 2000

It was the very best birthday weekend anyone could hope for. Lots and lots of lovely people all in one place at one time, a gorgeous hotel, a lovely meal, and a Canal Street to explore.

And just when you thought it was safe to peer out from under your comfortable bed... Keiran organised an urgent message to be phoned around all the rooms, "Sam's waiting in the lobby with the bus-driver". Well. That really got everyone moving...

Day 2... The party continues...

The party continues... Sunday morning was a bit of a strain with only about 10% of the party showing up for breakfast, but by the time Canal Street warmed up at 2ish the group was out in force. Alcohol began to flow freely again, and by 5 even I'd forgotten how little sleep I'd had.

about Manchester Pride

Manchester Pride has been around for a number of years, previously in the guise of Mardi Gras, GayFest and the Ab Fab Weekend. In recent years, the organisation has grown significantly, focussed its aims and provided a network for community groups, the City Council and the gay businesses - no mean feat!

The next Manchester Pride date for your diary:

Saturday, 12th July - Sunday, 12th October
Military Pride @ Imperial War Museum North
